The University of Danang signed a cooperation agreement to elevate the strategic partnership with the University of Côte d'Azur, France

On May 5, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) hosted the meeting and worked with Prof. Jeanick Brisswalter-President of the University of Côte d'Azur (UCA), France.

On this occasion, the top leaders of the two universities signed a partnership agreement to promote and elevate the strategic cooperation in the new period, as well as attended the program to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the UD - Danang International Institute of Technology (DNIIT).

The MOU signing ceremony also drew the attendance of Prof. Dr. Fabien Ferrero - Research Director of the UCA’s Electronics, Antennas and Telecommunications Laboratory; Mr. Samuel Delameziere - Director of the French Institute in Da Nang; Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh from  the Vietnam - Philippines Office of the Research Institute for Development, France.

On the UD side, there were Prof. DSc. Bui Van Ga - former Deputy Minister of Education and Training, former President of the UD; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the UD; Prof. DSc. Le Thanh Nhan - Director of DNIIT; leader representatives of relevant departments (Department of International Cooperation; Department of Science, Technology and Environment; Department of Academic Affairs; Department of Educational Quality Assurance; Department of Student Affairs ); representatives of the Board of Rectors, the Office of Science and International Cooperation of the UD’s member universities, VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education and School of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the UD, warmly welcomed and appreciated the significance of the visit by the UCA’s leaders. President Nguyen Ngoc Vu stressed: “This is the first delegation from a foreign partner university to visit and work with the UD shortly after Vietnam reopened after the Covid-19 pandemic, showing affection and determination to promote cooperation between the UCA and the UD, regardless of the geographical distance…This is an important mark that opens a new and promising period of cooperation which is suitable to the context and development objectives of the two universities.”

At the event, the Presidents of the UD and the UCA signed a partnership agreement to promote cooperation and exchange in training and scientific research in general; strengthen cooperation for DNIIT’s development in particular.

Leaders of the two universities expressed their satisfaction as well as appreciated the cooperation achievements over the past time, emphasizing each side as a leading important partner in the international cooperation strategy.
