The University of Danang wishes to participate more deeply in the UK-VN Higher Education Partnership Network

On May 18, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the University of Danang (UD), had a working session with representatives of the United Kingdom – Vietnam Higher Education Partnership Network (UK-VN HEP Network) led by Prof. Raymond Lee, Associate Dean (Global Engagement) of Faculty of Technology, University of Portsmouth.

Also joining the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoai Nga (Head of International Cooperation Department, University of Mining and Geology), Dr. Bui Thi Ngoc Thuy (Deputy Head of External Affairs, Hanoi University of Science and Technology). On the side of the UD, there was the attendance of MA. Ho Long Ngoc, Vice Director of the Department of International Cooperation.

For his part, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son expressed his pleasure to welcome Prof. Raymond Lee, at the same time thanked the professor for taking time to visit and work with the UD.

The UD’s Vice President highly appreciated the fact that the UD and the University of Portsmouth signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), as well as VNUK Institute of Research and Executive Education and the University of Portsmouth signed the Memorandum of Agreement on student exchange.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son and Prof. Raymond Lee agreed that in the coming time, the UD and the University of Portsmouth will make efforts to realize the cooperation contents in the MOU, especially in exchange of lecturers, students, joint research projects, etc., thereby bringing practical benefits to staff, lecturers and students of both sides.

Also at the meeting, the two sides shared diverse experience in training, scientific research, project implementation, etc.

Regarding the UK-VN HEP Network, Prof. Raymond Lee and Dr. Bui Thi Ngoc Thuy introduced some significant activities in the past time as well as future plans. In particular, the UD is considered as a potential partner of the network, thereby contributing to the educational cooperation between Vietnam and the UK.

The UD’s Vice President affirmed that the UD wishes to participate more actively and deeply in the UK-VN HEP Network, emphasizing that it will work with partners in Vietnam and the UK to coordinate in implementing activities.
