The University of Danang’s students received Jesco Asia’s scholarship in 2020

On December 22, Jesco Asia Joint Stock Company (Japan) in coordination with the University of Danang (UD) held the scholarship presentation ceremony for 20 students from the UD’s member universities and affiliated units with the total value of VND 100 million (VND 5 million/student).

The ceremony drew the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, Mr. Nakazaki Katsufumi – Director General of Jesco Asia, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chung – Director of Jesco Asia’s Danang branch, leader representatives of the UD’s functional departments (International Cooperation, Administrative Affairs, Student Affairs), the UD’s Japan Center, and 20 scholarship awardees.

Speaking at the ceremony, the UD’s Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son acknowledged and highly appreciated the leaders of Jesco Asia for always giving valuable consideration and support to the UD. At the same time, the UD’s Vice President hoped the Japanese company would continue to pay attention and award scholarships to the UD’s students to assist them in their study.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son affirmed that the UD has always attached great importance to fostering effective academia – industry collaboration, in which Jesco Asia is an important and close partner of the UD.
For his part, Jesco Asia’s Director General Nakazaki Katsufumi expressed his hope that the scholarship would provide motivation and support to difficult students to overcome obstacles and strive for a good future to contribute to the society.

This is the 4th year that Jesco Asia has awarded its scholarship to the UD under a cooperation agreement which aims to strengthen the friendship, promote cultural and educational cooperation between the two sides.
Twenty students awarded Jesco Asia’s scholarship this year are those who have difficult circumstances but exert themselves to achieve good results in study and extracurricular activities. These students were nominated by the UD’s member universities and affiliated units on the basis of students’ achievements and the preference for those who can use Japanese.

Through the Department of International Cooperation and the Japan Center, many Japanese universities, organisations, businesses and localities have cooperated with the UD to implement several meaningful activities such as: scholarship presentation, career consultation and orientation, free Japanese language training courses, and the signing of cooperation agreements in training, scientific research and human resource development.
