1. UD selected as one of four key universities to be strategically invested in as a national model
According to Conclusion Notice No. 45-TB/TGV of the Task Force of the Central Steering Committee for the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, The University of Danang (UD) is honored to be selected as one of four universities to receive strategic investment as a model for Vietnam’s higher education system.
This milestone presents a major opportunity and a renewed mission for UD to further accelerate breakthroughs in education, scientific research, and innovation, contributing to regional and national development.

2. UD member universities successfully hosted anniversary celebrations
A meaningful series of anniversary events was solemnly organized to commemorate: 50 years of establishment of University of Science and Technology (DUT) - UD, University of Economics (DUE) - UD and University of Science and Education (UED) - UD; 40 years of establishment of University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) - UD.
These events marked important development milestones, rekindled tradition and pride, and inspired generations to continue advancing the member universities - contributing to UD’s overall growth.

3. A successful 2025 undergraduate admissions season
UD achieved another successful undergraduate admissions season in 2025, welcoming - for the first time - over 17,000 freshmen, with strong entry quality (many programs recording among the highest admission scores). UD also launched six new majors/programs aligned with learners’ and society’s needs. These results reaffirm UD as a trusted choice for students and parents nationwide.

4. UD affirmed as a hub for prestigious academic conferences and scientific events
UD successfully hosted and co-organized the 2nd International Conference on Health Sciences and Technology (ICHST-2025). UD member universities also organized numerous international conferences attracting renowned scholars, including: TI4SD-2025 - International Workshop on Technology Innovation for Sustainable Development (UD-DUT); ICOAF-2025 - International Conference on Accounting and Finance (UD-DUE); CBA-2025 - International Conference on Biology and Agriculture (UD-UED); ATiGB-2025 - International Conference on Advanced Technologies in Green Buildings (UD-UTE); CITA-2025 - International Conference on Information Technology and Applications (UD-Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU)), held overseas for the first time in Cambodia, among others.

5. University - industry partnerships strengthened with effective engagement
Collaboration among universities–government–industry (“triple helix” partnership) gained strong momentum with nearly 120 MOUs/MOAs signed and implemented. These partnerships helped enhance laboratories, equipment, and software with a total value of over VND 23 billion, with notable examples such as: Open PCR Lab (UED-UD); Accretech Precision Metrology Engineering Lab, and UTE–Midea Air-Conditioning Installation Research & Training Lab (UD-UTE); Vietnam–Japan Innovation and Technology Space (VJIT Space) (UD-VKU). UD also mobilized over VND 16 billion in non-state scholarships from corporate partners to support students.

6. World Bank-funded ODA project implementation accelerated
The project’s loan agreement was extended until 31 October 2027, facilitating the commencement of technical infrastructure works and the completion of final project components. Key progress included: Completion of bidding for six construction and supervision consultancy packages; Signing of contracts for construction and equipment installation; Continued proposals to the City of Da Nang to support land clearance, resettlement arrangements, and to request competent authorities to consider adjusting and expanding the master plan toward forming an integrated university–research - innovation - startup complex.

7. Pioneering education and research in strategic technology fields
UD continued expanding English-taught programs and joined the university–industry alliance for training, research, and workforce supply for the semiconductor (chip) industry.
UD-DUT led the Central Vietnam Network for Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductor Technologies to train Industry 4.0 talents, with participation from: UD-UED, UD-UTE, UD-VKU
UD-DUT also participated in networks focusing on: New materials and construction technologies; Renewable energy and hydrogen; Smart technologies and advanced infrastructure; Biotechnology and agriculture.

8. Enhanced quality assurance and improved university rankings
UD continued strengthening academic staff capacity, adding: 02 newly appointed Professors, 28 Associate Professors and 80 new PhDs.
Among UD member universities, UD-DUT recorded the highest proportion of lecturers holding a PhD degree or above at over 70%, while UD-UED saw the most significant year-on-year increase, reaching over 67%.
UD also received strong recognition in reputable rankings: Top 3 universities in Vietnam (UniRank), Top 8 universities in Vietnam (Webometrics); Top 10 universities in Vietnam (QS World University Rankings), First-time participation in Times Higher Education (THE) rankings and Listed by U.S. News & World Report (USA) among the Best Global Universities.

9. UD-VKU successfully hosted the Vietnam International Mathematics Competition (VIMC-2025)
UD-VKU successfully hosted VIMC-2025, which was held in Vietnam for the first time. The competition attracted over 500 contestants (outstanding mathematics students), along with hundreds of teachers, experts, and international guests from 40 countries and territories.
The event contributed to nurturing young mathematical talents while promoting the image of Vietnam, Da Nang City, and the UD-VKU brand to the international community.

10. UD students achieved outstanding results in national and international competitions
UD students earned notable achievements, including: An international award in bioeconomy–circular–green economy at the 32nd APEC Forum; Champion of the 1st Vietnam Student AI Olympiad; Multiple First Prizes in major national and international competitions such as VietFuture Award, Econometrics Olympiad, Engineering Projects in Community Service, IoT Challenge, and UNDP Plastic Innovation Programme; National champion in men’s basketball; Honorably representing Vietnam in the ICPC World Finals in Azerbaijan.
