UD-DUE Hosts COMBELT 2026 International Conference on Management, Business, Economics, Law and Technology

On July 7, 2026, The University of Danang - University of Economics (UD-DUE) hosted the International Conference on Management, Business, Economics, Law and Technology (COMBELT 2026), bringing together more than 200 scholars, researchers, experts and policymakers from Viet Nam and abroad.

The conference was jointly organised with 15 international partners and higher education institutions, reaffirming UD-DUE's growing role as a regional hub for academic exchange and international research collaboration.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Rector of UD-DUE, described COMBELT as one of the University's flagship international academic events and part of activities responding to the Danang Business, Finance and Technology Week 2026.

He emphasised that the conference reflects the University's long-term strategy of expanding global academic partnerships, promoting interdisciplinary research and creating internationally connected platforms for scholarly exchange and innovation.

COMBELT 2026 was co-organised with leading universities and institutions from Europe, North America and Asia, including Babeș-Bolyai University (Romania), Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Kalasin University (Thailand), Université de Liège (Belgium), National Economics University (Vietnam), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan), Southern Leyte State University (Philippines), Udon Thani Rajabhat University (Thailand), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), University of Economics – University of Hue (Vietnam), Yuan Ze University (Taiwan), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Rayong Campus (Thailand), MacEwan University (Canada), and Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands).

Addressing the conference, Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, highlighted COMBELT 2026 as an important academic platform for strengthening international cooperation in higher education, science and technology, and innovation.

He also commended UD-DUE's proactive efforts in connecting universities, research institutes and international partners, noting that such initiatives contribute not only to enriching the academic environment but also to enhancing Da Nang's competitiveness and attractiveness as an emerging destination for education, innovation and international collaboration.

The plenary session featured keynote presentations by two distinguished international scholars who shared insights into emerging trends shaping the future of business and technology.

Prof. Timber Haaker from Saxion University of Applied Sciences delivered a keynote entitled “Business Models, Business Model Innovation and Sustainability in the Context of Digital Transformation”, examining how organisations adapt to disruptions in the digital economy through business model innovation while pursuing sustainable growth.

Meanwhile, Prof. Mohammed Elmorsy from MacEwan University presented “Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things and Connected Systems in Addressing Real-World Challenges”, highlighting the transformative role of AI, IoT and intelligent systems in improving governance efficiency, optimising operations and addressing complex societal and business challenges in the digital era.

Beyond the plenary programme, COMBELT 2026 featured 24 parallel sessions covering a wide range of topics, including digital-era business management, finance and banking, international economics and business, marketing and tourism in the circular economy, law and technology, business adaptation strategies, and interdisciplinary perspectives on governance and society.

The conference also recognised outstanding scholarly contributions through the Best Paper Awards, presented to:

“Electromobility Law in Poland: From Declaratory Regulation to Infrastructure-Oriented Innovation Policy” by Maciej Szmigiero of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, Poland; and “Exploring Da Nang's Destination Image Through TripAdvisor Reviews: An LLM-Assisted Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis” by Tran Hoang Uyen Thao and Nguyen Thi Sang from the UD-DUE.

COMBELT 2026 received 263 submissions, with nearly 200 papers selected for presentation during the conference.

The strong participation and high academic quality of the submissions further reinforced COMBELT's reputation as an international forum for knowledge exchange, research collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue in the fields of business, economics, law and technology.
