UD-DUT organized International Workshop "Towards a smart grid with high renewable integration"

On November 10, 2025, the University of Danang (UD) - University of Science and Technology (DUT) hosted an international scientific workshop with the theme: "Towards a smart grid with high renewable integration".

The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Sc. Tran Quoc Tuan,  a leading expert in the field of power systems and renewable energy, Research Director at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA – France), and also affiliated with INSTN and the Paris-Saclay University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu - Rector of DUT; former leaders of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering; experts from EVNCPC, A3, Power Transmission Company 2, EVNPECC4, Da Nang Power Company; lecturers, PhD candidates, master's students, and undergraduates.

According to Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Huu Hieu, Rector of DUT – UD, the university was honored and grateful to Prof. Tran Quoc Tuan for attending and providing valuable, cutting-edge knowledge to the faculty, researchers, and students of the university.

The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive perspective on green energy transition trends, challenges in operating modern power systems, and prominent technologies being applied globally.

At the workshop, Prof. Tran Quoc Tuan shared numerous advanced research findings on smart grids, the role of AI/IoT in grid operation, and practical implementation experiences in Europe - a region with a high proportion of power sourced from renewable energy.

The delegates discussed and shared views on topics such as: Optimization technology for power system operation, Trends in integrating renewable sources on a smart grid platform, Automation, digitalization, and green energy transition, and Opportunities for research cooperation and practical application in Vietnam.

With an open and vibrant academic spirit, the workshop not only delivered new knowledge but also opened up directions for cooperation in research, technology transfer, and high-quality human resource training in the fields of energy and automation.
