UD-UED strengthens partnerships with local authorities and enterprises in Central and Southern Laos
08/06/2026
From June 1 - 5, 2026, the University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) conducted a series of networking, working visits, meetings, and cooperation-signing activities with local authorities and enterprises in several provinces of Central and Southern Laos, including Attapeu, Sekong, Champasak, Savannakhet, and Bolikhamxay.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of UD-UED, drawing on many years of experience in educating Lao international students, the University has continuously expanded its partnerships and strengthened cooperation with local governments and businesses across Central and Southern Laos.

These provinces have long maintained traditional friendship and cooperation with Da Nang City, the Central Highlands and Central Vietnam regions, UD, and UD-UED in particular. Such relationships create favorable opportunities and conditions for Lao students to pursue Vietnamese language preparatory, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for Laos.
Through Vietnam-Laos educational cooperation, the University not only affirms its capacity, role, and mission but also serves as a bridge to further strengthen the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos, while contributing to the promotion of the Vietnamese language and culture internationally.

During the visit, the University delegation worked directly with local authorities and relevant agencies to explore practical needs and introduce the University’s strengths, particularly in Vietnamese language training and capacity-building programs that serve as a foundation for developing specialized academic programs for Lao students.
University representatives also shared information on the institution’s achievements in educating international students, highlighting scholarship opportunities as well as supportive learning and living conditions, including accommodation, dormitory facilities, and participation in experiential and personal development activities. These efforts are facilitated with the support of relevant agencies, organizations, and the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang.

A key highlight of the mission was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UD-UED and THACO AGRI, a member of THACO Group. The partnership aims to expand internship opportunities for students and Lao international students at THACO AGRI. Attapeu Province, one of the company’s key production areas, offers a particularly suitable environment for students in disciplines such as Biology, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Geography, and Natural Resource Management.
Under the agreement, the two sides will collaborate in implementing career orientation programs, specialized seminars, scientific research activities, expert exchanges, and recruitment initiatives, creating employment opportunities for graduates at THACO AGRI and its affiliated enterprises.
