UD-UFLS held Opening Ceremony of the Vietnamese Preparatory Program for Lao international students, academic year 2025-2026

On October 1, 2025, the University of Danang (UD) - University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS), hosted the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnamese Preparatory Program for the academic year 2025-2026 for Lao international students.

The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong, First Secretary of the Lao Consulate General in Danang; representatives from relevant departments (Science and International Cooperation; Student Affairs, Business Relations and Communications); leaders from the Center for International Cooperation and External Services, Danang Department of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Huynh Ngoc Mai Kha, Vice Rector of UD-UFLS, along with representatives from various offices, faculties, and Lao students enrolled in the program.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Mai Kha, Vice Rector of the University, noted that this intake includes 15 Lao students under the Agreement Program, supported by the Ministry of Education and Training, UD and with the close cooperation of the Lao Consulate General and relevant agencies in Danang.

With a tradition of 40 years of development, UD-UFLS highly values the educational cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. Through these programs, the university not only contributes to training high-quality human resources for Lao localities and enterprises but also strengthens the profound friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong, First Secretary of the Lao Consulate General in Danang, expressed confidence that the university’s experience, resources, and safe, friendly learning environment will enable Lao students to successfully complete the program and improve their Vietnamese proficiency at UD-UFLS.

He encouraged the students to focus on their studies, abide by university regulations and Vietnamese laws, and actively integrate into the new environment to build a solid foundation in Vietnamese, pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and contribute to the development of their homeland.  

On behalf of the Lao students, Nammakkhanhanh Viengsavanh shared his excitement about the new journey, expressed gratitude to the university and authorities for their support, and pledged to strive for academic excellence, improve his Vietnamese skills, and achieve good results, aiming for future academic success.
