UD's lecturers recognized for excellence in academic and scientific research

Lecturers from the University of Science and Technology (DUT) - the University of Danang (UD) have recently been recognized for their outstanding contributions to scientific research and international academic cooperation.

At the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards (VIFOTEC), two research teams from UD-DUT received prestigious honors. Dr. Ngo Dinh Thanh - Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and his team were awarded Second Prize for their project “Vfass: Automatic Flood Monitoring and Warning System.

Another team, led by Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu from the Faculty of Information Technology, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Kim Thoa from the Faculty of Environment and Dr. Vo Duc Hoang from the Faculty of Information Technology, received a Consolation Prize for their work on “Developing a Database and Intelligent Management System for the Biodiversity of Danang’s Flora".

Both projects were recognized for their innovative approaches to technology solutions addressing climate change, environmental protection, and sustainable resource management.

In a further testament to UD’s academic reputation, several faculty members from the University of Science and Education - UD, have been invited to join the editorial board of the Creative Science Journal, Thailand’s leading scientific publication, consistently ranked number one by the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre.

- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Dang Mau, Head of Faculty of Biology - Agriculture - Environment (Biology)

- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thang Nguyen, Lecturer at the Faculty of Physics - Chemistry (Chemistry)

These achievements underscore the growing international collaboration between UD-UED and partner institutions in Thailand, such as Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University, while highlighting the expertise and global standing of UD’s academic staff.
