UD’s Spring Gathering: Honoring New Professors, Associate Professors, and PhDs; Commending Outstanding Collectives and Individuals

On the morning of February 23, 2026, the University of Da Nang (UD) held a meeting for key officials to honor newly appointed Professors, Associate Professors, and PhDs, and to commend outstanding collectives and individuals.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Member of the City Party Committee and President of UD highlighted that the Spring Gathering is a fine annual tradition of UD. President of UD noted it is an occasion to welcome the New Year and look forward to new successes, especially amidst the nationwide atmosphere of joy and excitement as the country strives to implement the Resolution of the recently successful 14th National Party Congress.

The UD President stated that 2025 was a milestone year for the Education and Training sector, marked by major strategic policies issued by the Party and State. These policies have established a crucial foundation for breakthrough developments in Vietnamese higher education in general, and UD in particular. At the same time, they present significant challenges and high responsibilities to meet the country's development demands in the new era.

Through the collective commitment, dynamism, and innovation of its leadership, UD has reached impressive milestones across all sectors. A key highlight of this journey is UD’s selection by the central authorities as one of the country's top four universities to receive prioritized investment, establishing the institution as a benchmark for national higher education.

In parallel, UD's key project in Hoa Quy is being accelerated. It is envisioned to soon become a green, modern, and smart urban university area, serving as a solid foundation for UD to realize its ambition of becoming a National University.President of UD called upon all staff, lecturers, and students, particularly leaders at all levels, to unite in a shared spirit of solidarity.

President of UD urged the immediate development of concrete and feasible action plans with specific solutions, strictly aligned with the targets and missions set forth in Conclusion No. 45 of the Central Steering Committee. These efforts are dedicated to successfully achieving the goal: 'striving by 2030 to position UD among the Top 150 leading universities in Asia, with at least one academic field ranked in the World’s Top 100.

On this occasion, UD President Nguyen Ngoc Vu extended his warmest congratulations and commended the new Professors, Associate Professors, and Doctors, as well as the scientists, collectives, and individuals for their outstanding and exemplary achievements over the past year. He expressed his desire for even greater contributions to the development of UD in the coming time.

The President of UD conveyed the keynote for 2026, and also the guiding principle for action, which is “Breakthrough” with message resonates: “New Year - New Spirit - New Determination - Breakthrough Thinking - Breakthrough Action - Elevating UD to new heights through breakthrough development”.

During the ceremony, UD leaders honored and congratulated 02 new Professors, 26 Associate Professors, and 73 PhDs. Notably, many of the new PhD holders successfully defended their dissertations at prestigious universities in advanced educational systems, including: Japan (10), France(8), Taiwan - China (6), South Korea (4); the UK, Australia, Thailand, and China (2 each); as well as Russia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Hungary, New Zealand, India, Malaysia...

To date, UD boasts a faculty of 11 Professors, 162 Associate Professors, and 888 PhDs (accounting for over 52% of the total teaching staff). This represents a vital resource and a decisive factor in enhancing the quality of education and scientific research, affirming UD’s reputation and prestige, and meeting the demands of the new era.

During the ceremony, UD leaders also honored and rewarded exemplary collectives and individuals for their achievements in 2025, including: 20 outstanding individuals for their excellence in international publications, policy consultancy, and peer review; The Advanced and Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering Research Group (UD-University of Science and Technology) for their exceptional accomplishments in scientific research; Mr. Le Vu (M.Sc.), Director of the Learning Resource and Communication Center, University of Technology and Education - UD, for his exemplary accomplishments in communication and media relations.
