From July 26-27, 2023, University of Economics – the University of Danang (UD) hosted the 14th Vietnam Economists’ Annual Meeting (VEAM) with the cooperation of the Foreign Trade University, the Development and Policies Research Center (DEPOCEN), and the National Center for Scientific Research (France).

The event gathered 150 delegates who are domestic and international scientists, managers, experts in the fields of economic development in the context of integration and globalization.

The workshop has 140 scientific reports and presentations which contribute in-depth discussions on issues of economic development and international integration.

Overview of the workshop.

The highlight of this year’s workshop is the presence of 4 keynote speakers who are leading experts in the economic field, including: Prof. Mehmet A. Ulubasoglu (Deakin University – Australia) with the topic “Pro-poor land reforms, education and fertility: International evidence, 1820-2010”, Prof. Ha Duong Minh (French National Center for Scientific Research) with the topic “Implementing a just energy transition argument”, Prof. Mieszko Mazur (ESSCA France) with the topic “Crypto economy at the crossroads: Steering a course between innovation and enforcement”, Prof. Giang Thanh Long (National Economic University, Vietnam) with the topic “Aging population in Vietnam”.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice Rector in charge of University of Economics – UD, VEAM 2023 is an opportunity to connect leading scientists, researchers and experts in the fields of economic development, thereby contributing wisdom to the development and international integration.

On the sidelines of the workshop, economists, experts and researchers had a roundtable discussion on “Vietnam’s innovative start-ups” with themetic report of Dr. Dang Quang Vinh, an economist from the World Bank.
