Recently (November 13), Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, The University of Danang (referred to as VKU) has just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LG-Electronics Vietnam Group.

Attending were the Director of Solution Development Center for Auto Components in Vietnam - LG Electronics, Da Nang Branch Kim Jong Bok; Vice Chairman of Korean Business Association Kwon Jun Bo, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Interim Rector of VKU, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Chairman of VKU University Council.

Attending the meeting were leader representatives from offices under LG-Electronics Vietnam and departments and faculties of the University.

At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap – Interim Rector of VKU shared and introduced to LG-Electronics the highlights of VKU as one of the three Vietnamese Information and Communication Technology in-depth training and research universities and the only university in the Central Highlands region.

With the direction, support and investment of two governments (in which the Korean Government grants more than 16 million USD), the University has enough potentials in terms of training experience, human resources and facilities with nearly 3,000 students of 03 application-oriented university training programs.

The University's strategy is to strive to become a leading university, promote research, application, technology transfer and innovation, start-ups in many fields of Information and Communication Technology and related fields (electronics, control, digital economy, e-commerce, etc.), develop in the direction of a "Smart University", apply the advanced management methods to reach the international level.

Interim Rector of VKU makes a speech 

Interim Rector of VKU Huynh Cong Phap thanked and highly appreciated the cooperation between VKU and LG-Electronics Vietnam Group, thereby believing in promoting the potentials and strengths of each side towards sustainable and firm development.

"This event is a milestone contributing to nurturing the "Vietnam-Korea strategic cooperation partnership", said Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Cong Phap.

Speaking to the University, Director of Solution Development Center for Auto Components in Vietnam - LG Electronics, Da Nang Branch Kim Jong Bok appreciated VKU as the only university in the central region to train and in-depth research on Information Technology.

Director Kim Jong Bok shared that based on his successful experience in Hanoi, LG-Electronics will continue to set up an Information Technology Research and Development (R&D) Center in Da Nang. Accordingly, the need for human resources and research cooperation with universities like VKU is essential, especially in the fields of technology 4.0. "The bonding relationship, towards sustainable development with VKU today, has important implications for LG-Electronics".

According to the signed MOU, LG-Electronics would create the most favorable conditions for VKU students to have more opportunities to practice and experience in a professional and modern working environment, accompanying with the University to prepare a strong foundation for students before graduation to quickly adapt to the dynamic practice in the future.

The two sides would coordinate to implement activities to organize sightseeing, internship, coordinate with students to guide the project, graduation thesis, organize job festival, career counseling and recruitment, etc. to improve high efficiency in training, use of human resources as well as forging a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in the digital age.

Earlier (November 12), LG Electronics Group also signed a MOU with University of Science and Technology - UD, whereby the Solution Development Center for Auto Components in Vietnam - LG Electronics would coordinate to guide students to practice, do graduation thesis, and prioritize recruiting students to work for R&D Center of the Group when it comes into operation in Da Nang city.

On the occasion of the 45^th anniversary of the establishment of University of Science and Technology - UD, LG Electronics Vietnam Group, Hai Phong Branch also awarded the University a computer room (worth 15,000 USD) and 1 Smart LG TV.
