On the morning of March 15, Assoc.Prof. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired a virtual meeting with the Vice Rector of Arizona State University (ASU) - Mr. Jeffrey Goss to discuss the development cooperation orientation between the two sides in the time to come.

Overview of the meeting

Attendees of the meeting were ASU Representative Office in Vietnam: Ms. Sasha Stinchfield – Managing Director; Ms. Dang Tran Phuong Anh - Country Director; Mr. Deren Temel - Manager of Application Project and Maker Space Program; Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Anh - BUILD-IT Project Coordinator.

On the UD’s side, there were leader representatives of functional departments: Planning-Finance, Academic Affairs, Research and Development, Educational Quality Assurance.

ASU’s representatives highly appreciated the cooperation with UD

Representatives of UD's relevant departments exchanged and clarified the contents that ASU was interested in, in which, they affirmed that UD always attaches great importance to friendly cooperation with domestic and foreign partners including ASU; Constantly improve the quality of training and scientific research, link university and business cooperation for the goal of sustainable development.

ASU Representative Office in Vietnam discussed at the meeting  

UD introduced highlights on UD Urban Project (in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc) that has been interested by the Government of Vietnam and the World Bank to support investment to promote implementation and meet the requirements of strategic development of UD to 2025, vision to 2030.

Maker Space Project at UD in cooperation with ASU has brought about chances and space for students to study and research

ASU expressed its interest and affirmation that this is the basis for ASU to continue to support and propose to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to develop goals and plans for international cooperation projects between the two sides in a new stage of development.

The meeting ended in an atmosphere of trust and understanding, the leaders of the two sides acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the recent cooperation, at the same time affirmed the desire and confidence to continue promoting the cooperation, potentials and advantages towards common interests in the coming time.
