From July 22 to 24, 2025, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), University of Danang (UD), welcomed Professor Dr. Herwig Unger, a leading computer science expert from University of Hagen (Germany), for a series of lectures and seminars.

Professor Unger shared his extensive knowledge and experience, inspiring both lecturers and students in the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence (AI).

In addition to engaging academic lectures, Professor Dr. Herwig Unger delivered a series of seminars covering forward-looking topics and cutting-edge technological trends, such as: "The Future of Social Networking Systems," "Natural Language Processing," "GraphLearner," and "Brain-inspired Computing."

These sessions opened up new research directions and highlighted the practical potential of computer science and AI applications for both lecturers and students.

Professor Dr. Herwig Unger also imparted valuable insights into scientific research methodologies, including idea generation, report writing, and publishing in international journals. A highlight of his academic exchange at VKU’s eSTI Institute was a seminar featuring student presentations on AI Agent research topics. 

Through direct interaction with an internationally recognized scientist, student research groups received constructive feedback, guidance, and in-depth critique, helping them refine their research projects and enhance their research capabilities and mindset.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Herwig Unger also held a working session with VKU leadership and representatives from various departments and faculties.

He proposed several collaborative initiatives, including the development of the "Digital Professor" software application, postgraduate training, research supervision, co-organization of scientific conferences, joint publication of research findings, and advancing towards joint doctoral training programs in fields of mutual strength and interest.
