On March 27, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) and Mr. Huynh Ngoc Thuong - Director of Viettel Da Nang Branch co-chaired the workshop on introducing digital transformation solutions and information security.

Also attending were Deputy Directors of Viettel Da Nang Ms. Le Thi Hue and Mr. Nguyen Ky Anh; senior representatives of relevant departments of UD (Personnel affairs, Training affairs, Science and International Cooperation, Student Affairs, Property Management and Investment), representatives of Rectorate Boards of UD’s member universities and affiliated units and UD-Software Development Center.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – UD’s Vice President, digital transformation was a new trend, driving force, and opportunity to change the thinking, management methods, and culture of each agency, business, and school.

UD has built a digital transformation strategy to implement the Development Strategy to 2030, vision to 2045 with aspirations and efforts to realize its goal of becoming a National University in the spirit of Resolution No. 26 - Resolution/TW of the Politburo.

Appreciating the significance of the workshop, with the role of professional coordination between UD- Software Development Center (UD-SDC) and Viettel Da Nang, Vice President Le Quang Son expressed his desires that from this milestone, UD’s member universities and affiliated units as well as UD-SDC strengthened coordination and took advantage of experience from reputable businesses and experts like Viettel to promote effective solutions associated with information technology application with digital transformation, meeting the requirements of innovating university governance for sustainable development in the digital era.

At the workshop, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Thuong - Director of Viettel Da Nang said that Viettel Group had implemented a Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Education and Training since 2014; closely cooperated with Da Nang city in digital transformation, building electronic government and technical infrastructure to develop fields, including innovation-oriented education.

With the drastic direction of the government, ministries, branches and localities, especially with the Human Resource Training Strategy for National Digital Transformation, UD was a major training and scientific research center of region and the country. Viettel representatives expressed their belief that the digital university model focusing on digital transformation would contribute to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of university governance innovation, bringing value from technology platform that corporations and businesses like Viettel would accompany with universities.

Delegates listened to reports of experts from Viettel Da Nang sharing experiences on the Digital Transformation Structural Framework for higher education; key solutions on digital transformation and information security; inadequacies and difficulties from the practice of schools and units to jointly propose ideas and orient solutions to solve and deploy digital transformation models in education successfully and effectively.

On this occasion, UD-SDC and Viettel Da Nang signed a MOU, whereby the two sides coordinated to deploy application activities, information technology and digital transformation services; information security and support and promotion of products and service quality, contributing to building an ecosystem and digital transformation model for appropriate applications in higher education.
