President of UD welcomed and worked with Director of Research at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission

On November 10, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) welcomed and worked with Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan, Director of Research, Fellow Scientist and International Expert at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives - CEA). 

Prof. Tran Quoc Tuan is Professor at INSTN (Paris-Saclay University), Scientific Manager of Smart Grids at CEA-Liten/INES and Teacher at INSTN, Grenoble-INP, University Grenoble Alpes (UGA), an Honorary Professor at UD since 2017. 

The meeting brought together senior leaders from UD’s member universities and research institutes, including the University of Science and Technology - UD; the University of Technology and Education - UD; the Danang International Institute of Technology (DNIIT) - UD; the Institute of Advanced Science and Technology, as well as representatives from UD’s key departments and partner faculties.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu respectfully welcomed Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan to visit and work with UD. President of UD highlighted that UD is one of four universities in Vietnam selected for key investment to serve as a model for the higher education system (Conclusion Notice 45-TB/TGV of the Working Group assisting the Central Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation). 

This is a great opportunity for UD, along with a challenge that requires great effort and determination to create strong breakthroughs in training, scientific research, international cooperation, and cooperation with businesses, especially in strategic technology fields.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu expressed hope that Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan would serve as a bridge between UD and leading French institutions, facilitating collaboration in priority fields such as mechanical engineering, energy, semiconductors, electronics, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, fintech, and healthcare.

Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan expressed his joy at returning to visit the "common home of UD" with many positive changes as shared by President  of UD. From here, more opportunities will open up when UD has more resources thanks to key investments. 

With breakthrough policies and decisions in the context of integration and competition with intertwined opportunities and challenges, there will be more partners and new cooperation contents for UD to continue to develop and enhance its international reputation in the coming time.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and proposed ideas and directions for cooperation between UD and Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan as well as international partners, focusing on promoting the development of in-depth, interdisciplinary research groups, joint postgraduate training programs, coordinating the organization of international conferences and seminars, and proposing solutions to improve the position of UD on prestigious university rankings.

President of UD Nguyen Ngoc Vu sincerely thanked and appreciated the valuable support and positive contributions of Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan for UD in the past time; hoped that Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan would continue to support in his role as an ambassador to help UD connect and cooperate with universities and international organizations for the goal of sustainable development. Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan highly appreciated the development strategy of UD, believing that UD will continue to develop strongly in the coming time.
