UD's students receive Vallet Scholarships

On 28 August 2025, the “Rencontres du Vietnam” Science and Education organization awarded the 2025 Vallet Scholarships to outstanding students and pupils from Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, and Gia Lai provinces. Among the awardees were 15 students from The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT), 07 students from The University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED). Each student received a scholarship worth 32 million VND (approximately USD 1,300).

Founded by French scholar Dr. Odon Vallet of the Sorbonne, the fund supports academically excellent students facing financial or personal hardship in France, Vietnam, and several African countries.

In Vietnam, it is administered through Rencontres du Vietnam, led by physicist Professor Tran Thanh Van, founder of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon, together with Professor Le Kim Ngoc, President of the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Children in France.

According to the fund’s regulations, this year’s recipients achieved an “Excellent” academic standing in three consecutive semesters—Semester 2 of 2023 – 2024 and Semesters 1 and 2 of 2024 – 2025.

Applicants with notable research accomplishments or internationally recognized English or French certificates were given priority. Eligible students ranged from the second to the penultimate year of study in 2024 - 2025.
