The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) held a send-off ceremony for its student team heading to the 2025 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, to be hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan from August 31 to September 5. This is a great honor, as the University’s team is one of only three outstanding teams representing Vietnam at this prestigious global academic arena.

Team BKDN.Arcane of UD-DUT consists of students: Lê Ngọc Bảo Anh (Class 23T – KHDL1), Lưu Duy Quang (Class 22T – KHDL), and Võ Đắc Bảo Ân (Class 21TCLC – DT1), coached by Dr. Phạm Minh Tuấn, lecturer of the Faculty of Information Technology.

On their relentless journey to earn a place at the World Finals, BKDN.Arcane achieved notable distinctions, including: Silver Medal – ICPC Asia Hanoi Regional Contest (2024); Bronze Medal – ICPC Asia Pacific Championship (2025); National Champion – ICPC Vietnam (2024).

On this occasion, corporate sponsors including VNG Group, Mixel Vietnam, Kaopiz Software, and AntBuddy awarded scholarships to the team, providing motivation and support as UD-DUT students prepare to compete on the international programming intelligence stage.

According to the competition’s information, the event gathers top young programming talents from eight continental regions. Over a contest period of roughly five hours, teams must demonstrate composure, intellectual rigor, and advanced coding capability-requiring strategic thinking, teamwork, and the effective, context-appropriate application of algorithms.

This honorable appearance on the world stage is a source of pride for generations of Vietnamese students and vividly affirms the reputation and academic standing of UD-DUT alongside leading global institutions such as the University of Oxford, Tokyo Tech, Peking University, and MIT.
